Lacy Building

Location: 848 - 856 Logan Street

Date Built: 1888

History of the Building:

The facade of the three-story building bears the name of its builder, Albert H. Lacy, and construction date, 1888.  Built in cooperation with the Knights of Pythias, the upper floors housed the gentlemen's fraternity for over 40 years.  This is permanently noted in the limestone entablature marking the blind parapet of an apparent, but false, fourth story.  The west storefront has housed a hardware store under various ownership since 1892, and the upper floors were home to they Boys Club of Noblesville for eighteen years.  A full-size basketball court and an ornate Grand Room still occupy the third floor, although they are now used for storage.

Current Use: Kirk Hardware and The Linden Tree
