Location: 954
Conner Street
Date Built: 1915
History of the Building:
The
three-story building was built to house the J.G. Heylmann Wagon &
Carriage Works. The structure is especially notable for a system
of ramps connecting the basement level to the upper floors for ease of
mobility as the vehicle moved through the construction process.
Heavy loads were placed on the floor system, so substantial timbers were
used to support the interior framework.
In 1935 the building was sold to Phoebe
Hudler and became home to the Hudler Press, Inc. For almost 65
years the Hudler family published the weekly Noblesville Times,
originally known as the Hamilton county Times and established in
1871. They also provided printing and office supplies to clients. Current Use:
HMC Screen Printing, Inc.
